Job Description
Position Purpose:
Install Sales Department Supervisors are responsible for ensuring that excellent customer service is provided to all Install Customers from your store. They achieve this goal by supervising and providing training to Project Coordinator and Expeditor Associates within their departments. In addition they provide valuable input by working with their Specialty Department Supervisor business partners to help exceed their financial targets. In order to do their jobs effectively, they must have excellent customer service skills, strong product knowledge, and the ability to lead and develop their associates and others.

Position Responsibilities:
We’re looking for the type of associates who can tap into their inner orange by:
Overseeing work activity within the department and coaching Associates to be proficient in using the Customer Order Management system and the D-41 Standard Operation Procedures in order to proactively satisfy all customers
Providing outstanding service to external and internal Customers (e.g., assisting Customers in store or on phone, handling complaints, etc.)
Ensuring special orders are processed in a timely and professional manner, and customers receive timely communication and follow up throughout the process
Scheduling Associates’ work time and training needs within department of responsibility (to be approved by ASM)
Training, coaching and developing Associates’ customer service skills and knowledge within department of responsibility
Developing their associates by providing informal (e.g., coaching) and formal (e.g., written evaluation) performance-based feedback
Interpreting and enforcing Home Depot policies with associates in his/her department in a fair and consistent manner; provideing input to their Assistant Store Manager (ASM), Store Manager (SM) and Human Resources Manager (HRM) regarding appropriate discipline and/or discharge
Participating in interview process for applicants; partnering with ASM, SM and HRM regarding hiring recommendations
Ensuring the store is following Standard Operating Procedures for Special Orders and for Customer Installations, to ensure customers are 100% satisfied
Developing and maintaining strong business partnerships with external partners (Service Providers and Vendors) and internal partners (Department Supervisors and Zone Services Managers)
Maintaining profitability through report analysis, identifying trends, defining problems and developing and implementing appropriate actions
Preparing for key store processes ie: audits and yearly inventory
Looking for missed and/or training opportunities within department and/or other
Planning and implementing actions focused on delivering customer satisfaction
Increasing efficiencies of completing Special Orders and Install tasks
Maintenance and follow-up on store conversions to goal, every week
Continually looking for opportunities to ensure In-Store Cycle time performance is below or at target (e.g., cycle time target of 48hours from receiving measure done from service provider to completing the entire quote so that the “Install Project” is ready to close)
Planning, setting and signing promotional events for the store
Ensuring actual Install Sales continues to exceed Install Sales Plan, every week

Experience/Knowledge Required:

Ability to work a flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends
Excellent communication skills and customer service skills
Excellent decision making ability and problem solving skills
Knowledge of all policies, procedures and duties related to customer service
Have 1 to 2 years experience as a supervisor
