PERMANENT FULL TIME
Responsible for managing the Labour Relations portfolio which includes Contract Administration and Union Relationships with OPSEU (Support Staff), ONA (Professional Staff) and non-union employees representing approximately 850 employees and managers and situated in 5 locations (Burlington, Brantford, Hamilton, St. Catharines and Simcoe).
Educational Qualifications

A university degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Labour Relations or related field.
A Masters in a related field is preferred.
A CHRP designation preferred

Experience
10+ years’ experience in increasingly responsible Labour Relations focused positions, including 5+ years Labour Relations Management

Membership
Actively engaged in HRPA (local chapter and/or provincial Committee) preferred

Widely and varied Labour Relations experience working in an unionized environment.
Strong (broad based) Generalist HR background; high level of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality.
Excellent interpersonal skills with diverse internal and external stakeholders; ability to establish effective working .relations within a unionized workplace.
Strong program/project management skills and accountability.
Results focused; ensures metrics are achieved.
Knowledge of applicable employment related legislation.
Ability to research and draft policy and procedures.
Strong analytical skills; ability to measure portfolio’s contribution to organization’s balanced scorecard.
Organized; ability to prioritize with little notice in response to emergent issues; strong attention to detail.
Strong consultation, facilitation and negotiation skills to articulate, defend and influence outcomes.

HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm
