GO Transit’s Railway Corridors Division is seeking a proven leader to oversee the rehabilitation and maintenance of all railway track infrastructure and associated assets, including managing railway contractors, overseeing capital rehabilitation projects, liaising with host railway companies, government agencies and authorities to ensure a safe and reliable system.

Key Responsibilities:
Planning and implementing railway corridor system maintenance, upgrades and rehabilitation.
Developing and executing internal and external management control systems to maximize safety.
Establishing, prioritizing and controlling all track rehabilitation programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
Administering agreement terms and conditions to ensure full contractor compliance relative to railway corridor track asset management.
Liaising with regulatory entities to ensure alignment and compliance with prevailing safety regulatory policies and best practices.
Liaising with external railway operators on hosted rail corridor maintenance and slow order removal issues.
Overseeing capital and operating budget and expenditures allocated to railway corridor rehabilitation and maintenance to ensure appropriate cost control and proactively manage variances.
Managing contractors that are engaged in rehabilitation and maintenance activities on the rail corridor to ensure cost effective, reliable and safe operations.
Managing staff and monitoring work assignments to ensure timelines are adhered to.

Qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of railway infrastructure construction and/or maintenance management normally attained through completion of a university program (e.g. civil engineering) or any combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
Eight years of related experience.
