Canada has published details of a new international educational strategy. The federal government is opening wide doors for international students! The main goal of the new five-year strategy worth $ 148 million is to increase the diversity of countries of origin of foreign students.
Canada will focus on countries with a growing middle class, where the prospect of an education in English or French will be attractive. Canadian authorities will focus on students from Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Morocco, Ukraine, Turkey, and France.
Another key goal of the strategy is to diversify places to study for foreign students by attracting foreign students to rural and less populated areas, where there are fewer immigrants. As of December 31, 2018, there were over 570,000 holders of study permits in the country.
