CANADIAN GOVT’S APPROACH TO EXPRESS ENTRY IN 2022
In the province, to improve the immigration system, the Canadian immigration minister Sean Fraser is determined to hold on to Canada invites PNP candidates program as of now.
But, upon asking about other immigration program backlogs, such as the Canadian Experience Class (CES), Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and Federal Skilled Trade Program (FSTD), Fraser assured that nothing is inevitable and the government is working on the subject.
The hold on the above program is a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic. Earlier, almost all FSWP candidates used to apply for Canadian citizenship through the Express Entry invitations.
This led to an enormous 1.8 million backlogs. The last count ended with 119 000 Express Entry candidates in December 2021, waiting for the clearance of these backlogs.
These are huge numbers to cover, and as long as the pause continues on the above immigration programs, rest assured can’t be completed in due time.
Recently, the IRCC came with a briefing note suggesting that Canada is ready to hold Express Entry draws for FSWP and CEC candidates until half of the blockage application gets clearance.
However, the immigration department hopes for the immigration processing period to return to six months. In contrast, the IRCC memo mentioned the due time required for FSWP candidates (20 months) and CEC candidates (8 months).
The Canadian government is indeed in action mode regarding the immigration process blockage clearance.
In a recent meet-up with the Canadian Bar Association (CBA), the Canadian immigration minister Fraser stated that the IRCC is working on bringing the best possible solution of holding Occupation Focused Express Entry draws.
The minister made it clear to the IRCC official to fulfill the labor market need by processing those candidates’ applications on Express Entry draws who meet all the requirements.
Also, this amendment by Fraser has an essential point where he is certain to find pathways for students and job seekers to immigrate to Canada via the Express Entry in 2022 system.
SO, WHAT IS EXPRESS ENTRY?
Express Entry is an immigration program that consists of three immigration pools for candidates, such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trade Program (FSTD), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
The Express Entry uses the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to rank candidates based on their CRS score.
Candidates with the highest rank receive an invitation to apply for permanent Canadian residency.
The key factors considered in the CRS will be education, relevant skill and work experience, English and French proficiency, etc.
Once you submit your application with relevant details, the officer responsible will review and make the final decision. Further, they may ask you for a biometrics check-up and set up an interview if needed.
If you pass the above assessment, IRCC then issues a Confirmation of Permanent Resident (COPR) to complete the landing process.
HOW CAN A PROVINCE NOMINATE YOU?
If you have an Express Entry profile suitable for the Canadian labor market, you have a sheer chance to immigrate to Canada.
